Dr. Jae-Won Lee retires

After 35 years at Cleveland State University, Dr. Jae-won Lee is retiring as a full-time faculty.
Prof. Jae-won Lee, director of the Journalism and Promotional Communication Division, Cleveland State University, visited the University of Oregon at the invitation of the UO Center for Asia and Pacific Studies on April 11-12.
During his trip sponsored by the CAPS “Engaging Korea” program, Prof. Lee gave a public speech, “Reflecting on the Two-way Educational Exchange between Korea and the United States” at the University of Oregon.
He also delivered an hour-long research presentation, “”Practicing Subjectivity While Talking Objectivity: What Does It Mean to News-Journalism Students?” at the UO School of Journalism and Communication.
During his 90-minute forum with the UO Asian graduate students in journalism and communication, he discussed his fulfilling academic career of 36 years as a journalism teacher-scholar in the U.S.
Dr. and Mrs. Lee had a breakfast meeting with three Korean graduate students in communication studies at UO.
